Easter for all ages!

Come join us this Sunday for a special multigenerational Easter celebration!

Gather at 10:30am for interactive, all-ages worship as we all prepare to rise together "from our winter doldrums, from our ruts and cycles, from our uninspired ordinariness to a new awakening of wonder, insight, and compassion."

Following the service, join us for a delicious potluck supper and an exciting Easter egg hunt for children and youth (bring a basket!).

See you on Sunday!

Community Connections: April 2012

Volunteering is a fun and easy way to deepen connections within our UU community; and getting involved is not just for adults!

Learn more about our community, meet UUs of all ages, learn about our faith, and feel good about giving back to our community. Check back here or the sign up table after the service for the latest opportunities to get involved with the work of our community!

We are currently looking for:
·         Children and youth who would like to usher during our worship services. Contact Amy Peterson Derrick.
·        Interested in shaping the direction of our Faith Development Program for all ages? Contact June Urdy or Amy Peterson Derrick to serve on the Faith Development Committee

Notes from the Journey: April 2012

We all know that we can stay informed and connected by attending church events at our location on Ballenger Highway (and don’t forget to stop by our sign up table after the service!), but did you know that there are many other ways to connect with our community in the virtual world?

The online world for UUs has exploded over the past couple of years with many new ways to find support, community, and to learn more about our UU movement. You can read UU blogs, tweet with other UUs, and find out what other UUs are “pinning” on Pinterest. Take some time to deepen your community connections and check out some of these resources, or add your own to the mix.

Staying Connected at Home (online resources for the Unitarian Universalist Church of Flint):
On our website, www.uuflint.org, you will find our newsletters, contact information for staff and other helpful information and links. And don’t forget that UUCF is on Facebook! So write on our wall, RSVP for events, and help spread the word about our liberal religious community to your friends.
Our Faith Development Blogspot: Stay on top of what is going on in our Sunday morning programs, our committee, and give feedback

Connect with the UU movement:
Of course, you can find many helpful resources on the UUA website, including Worship Web, a page packed with resources for worshipping at home or at church. But you can also find out information about continental events and trainings (for district-sponsored events a little closer to home, check out heartlanduu.org).

Interested to hear what other UU leaders are saying about our movement? Take a look at UUpdates.net and search UU blogs for topics that interest you.

The UUA has many email discussion lists to help support you on your journey, from information and discussions on UU homeschooling to Bible Study to Global Warming email lists can be a great way to interact with UUs from all over the country.
