We know that a peaceful world cannot long exist, one-third rich
and two-thirds hungry."
- Jimmy Carter
"The day that hunger
is eradicated from the earth there will be the greatest spiritual explosion the
world has ever known. Humanity cannot imagine the joy that will burst into the
world."
-
Federico Garcia Lorca, Spanish poet
IN TODAY'S SESSION... We explored
hunger around the world and at home through a banquet demonstration.
Participants were randomly chosen to sit at different tables, each set with
differing amounts of food and we discussed the differences between each of the
tables. We wondered why there might be more food at some tables than others and what
happens when there isn’t enough. We also shared ideas on what we can do to help
make sure that everyone has enough.
