Many of you know that while our classrooms for ages preschool and above are lovingly staffed by volunteers (you may even be one of them!), our nursery care is available thanks to our paid childcare staff of Dominique Brown, Katie Straw and Annie Cross. Whether you have a child who attends our nursery on Sundays or you are interested in organizing an event that offers childcare to our members, here are some things that you need to know. Also, even if you don’t use our nursery, please take the time to stop in and say hello to our awesome staff!
.) Our nursery opens at 10:10am on Sunday mornings and we ask that you pick up your child no later than 12:00pm. (Childcare provided during additional events must be requested in advance and times will be announced. See Below for information on how to request childcare.)
.) On Sunday mornings, childcare is provided for children under the age of four while children four and above attend our Lifespan Learning classes. However, this is not without exception, and we are happy to work with families to ensure that your child is in the very best place for him or her.
.) If you plan to have your child in our nursery, please be sure to fill out a registration form for him or her. The information on these forms help us to know who has permission to pick up your child, allergy and health issues as well as any special needs that we need to be aware of. Registration forms can be obtained from the nursery staff, Director of Lifespan Learning or in the front office.
.) We ask that you do not send snacks into the nursery with your child (other than a bottle or water); we have several youngsters with severe allergies or who follow special diets and arrange for snacks accordingly.
.) Please be sure to sign in your child upon drop off and sign them out when you pick them up.
.) As always, it is a priority to maintain a safe environment for all of our children. While an attempt will be made to resolve conflicts in the nursery, occasionally a problem may arise that requires parents/ guardians to intervene and the staff will contact you immediately.
.) To request childcare for an event, please contact Amy Derrick, Director of Lifespan Learning, or a member of our childcare staff. You will be asked to fill out a request form, which is also available at www.uucflifespan.blogspot.com.
